The Horse Peoples Alliance of Ontario, a not-for-profit corporation that advocates for the common interests of all horse people in Ontairo, Thoroughbred, Standardbred and Quarter Horse held an informational meeting at the Sheraton Toronto Hotel on Wednesday December 6, 2017.
At the meeting, attended by some 70 horse people and many more by way of live video via Facebook, the directors outlined plans to gain more accountable and transparency within the horse racing industry.
The Alliance pledged its collective efforts to ensure the long term viability of the horse racing and breeding industry which 30,000 to 40,000 Ontarians look to for their livelihoods.
With the unanimous support of members present, the Alliance was authorized to move forward with those steps necessary to achieve openness and transparency respecting industry financial arrangements and the opportunity for equitable distribution of all available funds.
We further encourage your participation by joining the now hundreds who have attended Alliance meetings and joined via the website.
